High-aluminum balls are a category of alumina balls, which are referred to as high-aluminum balls because of their high alumina content. High alumina ball is made of bauxite, roller powder, industrial alumina powder, high-temperature calcined Alpha alumina powder and other materials as raw materials, through batching, grinding, powder making, molding, drying, firing and other processes. There are also certain differences in alumina purity and specific gravity. The high alumina ball stones on the market generally have 92% content and 95% content. The 92% content of high alumina ball stone has a specific gravity standard of 3.60g/cm³ or more. If this parameter is not met, it is a nonconforming product. If the specific gravity standard does not meet the standard, the grinding process will increase the wear and increase the production cost. 95% content of high alumina ball stone, its specific gravity standard is above 3.65g/cm³, alumina purity is higher than 95%, and it has the characteristics of high purity and low impurity content.

The specific gravity standard of high alumina ball is mainly affected by the raw material aluminum hydroxide powder and the firing temperature. Factors such as firing (not cooked), excessively coarse powder, and insufficient purity will cause the specific gravity of the ball to fail to meet the standard. Alumina balls with a low specific gravity are not wear-resistant and easy to crack, but a high specific gravity does not mean that the balls have a certain wear resistance, because over-sintered balls can also reach a higher specific gravity.

Manufacturing method of high alumina ball

First, the alumina raw material is added to the dumping electric arc furnace and melted into a liquid state, and then the furnace is poured at a certain angle, so that the solution flows out from the casting trough at a certain speed, and the liquid flow passes through the 60 to 90 degrees of the stream. The flat nozzle blows the liquid flow with a high-speed air flow with a pressure of 0.6-0.8Mpa to form a high-aluminum ball.

How to identify the quality of high alumina balls

1. From the eyes, the higher the alumina content, the whiter the color of the ball, otherwise the darker the color.

2. Check if there are indentations. Those with indentations are pressed and formed with high strength; those without indentations are rolled and have poor strength.

3. Touch it by hand. The surface is smooth, and the quality is better without roughness.
